Composite Integration are proud to be finalists in this year’s Composites UK Industry Awards within the Innovation in Composite Manufacture category.
The innovation in this project involved Composite Integration pushing the boundaries of traditional composite processes, working alongside Hill Helicopters to develop a complex vacuum tight multi-part tool and process techniques, in order to manufacture a prototype helicopter fuselage in a single shot, infused moulding with no bonded joints.
Composite Integration used their extensive experience in closed mould and infusion process technology to design and manufacture tooling and first off components for the high-performance composite fuselage.
Following on from multiple recent projects for both process development and equipment design/manufacture in the aerospace sector, this project provided an excellent platform to demonstrate the company’s capabilities. Founded in 2002, Composite Integration has a proven track record of delivering new technologies, processes, and production solutions into a wide variety of global sectors including aerospace, renewable energy, marine and automotive.
A third scale demonstrator of the fuselage will be on show at Advance Engineering, where Composite Integration will be exhibiting, Stand X135.
The winners of the Composite UK Industry Awards will be announced at the awards ceremony, taking place on the 2nd November at the National Motorcycle Museum, Birmingham.
