We were delighted to be invited to present at the 2018 Taiwan Boat Show and Conference by TAITRA (the Taiwan External Trade Development Council) and our Taiwanese partners Atech Composites.
The show is held at the beautiful Kaohsiung Exhibition Center and Horizon City Marina in southern Taiwan.
The global luxury yacht industry is currently experiencing steady growth but the market in Asia is proving to be particularly exciting. Taiwan’s yacht industry is ranked first in Asia and fourth in the world market with the expectation of even stronger growth over the next few years.
Composite Integration distributor Atech Composites are the specialist composites branch of the Horizon Yachts corporation. They have continued to develop both RTM and resin Infusion not only for the production of large-scale yacht structure but also in other sectors including wind energy and automotive.
The Atech stand at the boat show was a showcase for their technical developments and range of composite products and included practical demonstrations of the RTM and Infusion processes.
Stephen Leonard-Williams presented a paper entitled ‘Advanced Manufacturing Processes in the Marine Industry’ at the ‘Global Market Trends and Design’ summit forum.
It was fascinating to spend time not only at the boat show but also at the Horizon and Atech production facilities where we were treated to a demonstration of resin infusion on an impressive scale.
We look forward to a continued successful technical partnership.
Thanks to Chris Chen (Vice General Manager) and Amy Liu (Special Assistant) for their kindness and hospitality during our stay in Taiwan.
